When the sisters of Story Stoles decided to start their own company, they had a few hopes and dreams in mind. They wanted to make products that shared the story of God’s love in Christ with others; they aspired to unite their passions with God’s gracious gift of creativity given to us all; they hoped their company would help support their livelihoods and loved ones; and, most of all, they desired their business would soon accompany other groups and organizations working to make a difference in the world.
Our second annual Social Justice Stole Design Contest is a stunning result of these dreams! Alongside fabulous theologians, whose designs won our second annual contest, we have created another powerful collection that will benefit Young Clergy Women International this year (www.youngclergywomen.org)!! YCWI is a supportive, professional network of over 1600 current and upcoming clergywomen from around the world! Thank you to Maggie Alsup (Batesville, AR), Jennifer Roberts (Knoxville, TN), Mary Wiggins (Scranton, ND), and Chaja Verkerk (Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands) for your design contributions! We now have a collection of stoles that, when worn, will not only uplift God’s sense of love and justice in the world but also accompany others along their way to strengthening communities and healing people’s lives.
We couldn’t be more excited about this new collection. We pray it helps share the story of God’s love in ways that are numerous and far-reaching!
